When to Respond, Part 5 Print E-mail


It would be very polite to let someone know that you are not interested. When I first started Internet dating, I would feel hurt if I answered a guy's ad and he didn't respond at all. A "no thank you" would be better than nothing. It felt like being stood up via the computer. However, as mentioned above, due to numerous replies, lack of time, or whatever, people don't or are unable to do it. I actually lost a night's sleep once when I deleted a bunch of emails without responding. I wondered how many guys felt like they were "blown off." Sorry guys!

One time a guy responded to my ad, using a cut and paste generic response, and used all capital letters on top of it, stating at the end, "PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUSLY INTERESTED IN MEETING!" Well, I wasn't interested at all, especially after reading his email on debt settlement, because it was quite clear that he was an angry young lad.
